Healing Parent–Child Strain in Black Families

  • 5 Steps

About

This three-step module offers a culturally responsive framework for understanding and addressing parent–child strain in Black families. It recognizes the strengths that shape Black parenting, including cultural pride, collective responsibility, spirituality, sacrifice, and preparation for racial inequity, while making space to examine how survival-based patterns can affect emotional connection. Participants will learn to identify inherited family dynamics without blame, respond to conflict with emotional regulation and open communication, and build family practices that support protection, accountability, and healing.
